Scientific Sales Specialist
We’re seeking a Scientific Sales Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base while ensuring existing customers achieve their goals using our software.
As a Scientific Sales Specialist, you will blend your expertise in protein structure and function with your excellent interpersonal skills to help our customers unlock the full potential of Levitate Bio’s protein modeling software. You will serve as the bridge between science and sales, working directly with customers to train them on our tools, support their projects, and grow our business by building strong relationships within the protein engineering community.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Training and Support
- Train customers on Levitate Bio’s tools, including the user-friendly Bench GUI and Engine Linux-based API job submission tool.
- Explain the scientific and technical value of our software for protein design and engineering.
- Provide ongoing support to customers, ensuring they achieve their project goals and renew their subscriptions.
Sales and Business Development
- Reach out to prospective customers via email and at conferences, engaging them in discussions about their scientific challenges and exploring how Levitate Bio can help.
- Lead potential customers through the sales pipeline:
- Schedule introduction meetings.
- Demonstrate the software.
- Facilitate trial periods.
- Drive subscription purchases.
- Track all customer interactions and opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring timely follow-ups and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Marketing and Documentation
- Develop technical and scientific documentation for the software to support customer use.
- Create compelling marketing materials tailored to protein engineers in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field with a strong emphasis on protein structure and function.
- Familiarity with Computational Protein Design: Experience or familiarity with Rosetta Molecular Modeling or other computational design tool is a significant plus.
- Professional Experience: Experience working in a company focused on protein therapeutics or related fields is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train customers, build relationships, and represent Levitate Bio at conferences.
- Sales Acumen: Interest or experience in sales, with an ability to understand customer needs and present tailored solutions.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with protein design tools or computational biology is a plus (training will be provided).
- Organization and Tracking: Strong organizational skills with the ability to track and manage customer interactions and progress across a detailed sales pipeline. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for conferences and customer visits (~50% travel), easy travel to Boston is a plus.
